THE SYNOPSIS

THE PRODUCTIONIn Mind was filmed on location in New Britain, Connecticut in the year 2005 AD. We began pre-production in March 2005 with the completion of the script. From there I drew up some crude storyboards that I didn't have the nerve to show anyone and put together the cast. Then it was rehearsals, rehearsals, rehearsals. The script (not me) demanded an apartment for the film so we went out hunting. It just so happened, that by the result of a freak accident…don’t ask…don’t tell, the third floor of my grandmama's house was free. So I did what I had to do to convince her to let me use it. That mostly entailed giving her lots and lots of money. Once the location was secure, I went out and bought some old furniture at the Salvation Army (including a mattress that was purchased for 20 bucks...needless to say we put ALOT of sheets over it.) and dressed the set up. With that, pre-production wrapped and the blast that is Production began. That fiasco started at the beginning of May and ran through to the first week of June. If we shot consistently we would’ve been done in eight days, but everyone making the movie had other jobs (except for me :...(), so we had to stretch it out. Once filming was complete the eight hours of footage was brought into the editing room (a.k.a. my cat's bedroom). I quickly realized my Pentium Nothing and 64mb of RAM wasn't going to work. So I took my hard-earned pennies to CoinStar and put together the parts needed to build my own Super-Computer. Turns out the CPU was finished before the film (by some strange paradox it seems) and I did what any owner of a Super-Computer would do…I filled it with games (Half-Life 2, Far Cry, Mame...Pr0n). Of course I had to clear all that out before I could edit, so I did (except for the Pr0n) and started the final phase: Post-Production. It was Import, Cut, Paste, Export...repeat, for about a month, until I got a cut that I thought was nice and tight. After a few screening with the cast and some key viewers (my Mom), it turned out it wasn't THAT tight so I re-cut it ‘till it was. While I was doing that, Optimus flew in on a summer breeze and dropped the score upon my desk. Along with the score was a note which read: Don’t ask, don’t tell. I didn’t and I don’t. I dropped in the OST and by the end of July I declared the film born. I tossed out of the nest and into the cold world of film festivals. When I hear from it, word will be here. 'Cause you care.
